Obituary of Rosey Ely

Rosey Mae Lingar Ely, of Independence, KY passed away at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood, KY on Sunday, June 18, 2017 at the age of 88. She was born in White Star, KY on September 28, 1928; to the late James and Katherine Lingar. Rosey enjoyed crocheting and cooking especially chicken and dumplings and her famous cornbread. She was member of Latonia Full Gospel Church. Rosey was preceeded in death by her husband Rev. Claude Ely, Sr.; son, Roger Ely. She is survived by her children, Claude (Jean) Ely Jr., Claudette (Lynn) Bowling, Sonnie (Judy) Ely; daughter in law, Wanda Ely; sister, Katie Mullins; grandchildren, Melinda (Robbie) Bustle, Brent (Tammy) Ely, Kevin (Jessica) Bowling, Taylor (Ashley) Bowling, Daniel (Lynessa) Ely, and Hannah (Ryan) Moore; and 15 great-grandchildren. Visitation will take place on Wednesday June 21, 2017 from 4:00 PM until the time of service at 7:00 PM at Latonia Full Gospel, 4419 Decoursey Ave, Covington, KY 41015. Burial will take place at Powell Valley in Dryden, Virginia. Memorials may be made to St. Elizabeth Hospice, 1 Medical Village Drive, Edgewood, KY 41017
