Obituary of Sarah Rose Kirk

Sarah Rose Goforth Kirk, age 81, of Independence, passed away Thursday, June 29, 2017 at her residence.  She was a homemaker and a member of Community Family Church.  Rose enjoyed working in her flower garden and spending time with family.  Her parents, Otto and Dora Goforth and brother, George Goforth, preceded her in death.  She is survived by her husband (of 64 years) Jack Edward Kirk, Sr.; children, Jack Edward Kirk, Jr.  (Sharon) and Johnny Sue Bauer (James); siblings, Villis Garland, Clyde Goforth (Bobbie), and Elsa Brown; grandchildren, Stephanie Fishburg, Samantha Kirk, Jayme Bauer, and AJ Bauer (Maggie).  Visitation will be Monday, July 3, 2017 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with services beginning at 1 p.m. at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home in Independence.  Interment will be at Independence Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass.  Online condolences may be expressed to www.chambersandgrubbs.com.
