Obituary of Rita Jean Barnett

Rita Jean Barnett, age 73, of Hebron, passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Hospice. She was born to the late Elroy and Virgie Perry on July 28, 1944 in Covington, KY.

Rita worked for Zale’s Jewelry Store as a regional manager before retiring.

She enjoyed collecting angels, country music, especially Willie Nelson, watching TV shows such as the Price is Right and crime investigation.  

Rita is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Donald “Barney” Reed Barnett.

She is survived by her three children, Mike (Pam) Giordano, Bridgit (John) Hallam and Julie (Matt) Smith; grandchildren, Amber, Ashley, Ariel, Devon, Carson, Johnny and Karina; great-grandchildren, Brycen, Brinley, Emma, Tyler and Eric; and Mike (Lynn) Giordano.

A gathering of family and friends will take place on Saturday, September 23, 2017 from 2PM until 4PM at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home in Florence.

A Memorial Service will begin at 4PM, also at the Funeral Home.

Memorial donations in lieu of flowers are suggested to St. Elizabeth Hospice, 1 Medical Village Dr., Edgewood, KY 41017.
