Gestures
Mom,
Words cannot express the pain of your absence. Although you have only been gone a few days, the hole in my heart will never heal. For soon to be 61 years, you were always there. My beautiful mom with the energy of the energizer bunny. The most never ending, hardworking person I have known. I guess I always believed you would keep going and going and going. And you did. I know that for 15 years throughout the aftermath of your car wreck and then later subsequent broken hip(s) from osteoporosis...that pain was a constant struggle. Yet, the love and joy you felt for your kids and grandkids forced you to "push on" in your never ending display of sacrifice. You taught (by example) how to love and forgive others "no matter what". Especially family. You believed God created families to love and protect each other. You taught us the importance of advocating for those we love when the loved one was without the voice necessary to advocate for themselves. God knows, if anyone were to hurt one of your kids or grandkids, or anyone you loved, your mother hen feathers would get ruffled and the "offender" could bet you would "let em have it". You loved your family and your friends....and we all knew it. Thank you for giving us the comfort of knowing your love "no matter what".
When I evaluate your life, I can't begin to express how much I admire you as a human being. You accomplished so much on your journey on this earth. You filled the hearts of oh so many. You were one of those people that if someone met you for 10 minutes, they would never forget you. To know you, is to love you.
When I was about 4 years old I recall a children's book that you had bought for me and read to me every night. I remember your arms around me looking at the beautiful illustrations of the angels in the heavens with me. The book is titled "The Shiniest Star" by Beth Varden. What warm comfort I feel when I close my eyes and feel and hearyour voice reading that book to me. Like the book, the earth has lost a person that was a shining star and placed that star in the heavens above. When I look at the sky at night, I will find the shiniest star in the sky and know my mom is shining down upon us.
I love you mom....now....always...."no matter what". Thank you for loving me "no matter what". What a Blessing to have your love.
Your NeeCee
To Mom,
Dad always said your mother is your best friend, he was right. I love you and will always love you. You were the best mom I could have ever asked for and I will miss you always. My family was so lucky to have you in our lives and we will never forget all your love and support over the years. Our hearts break and our tears fall.... we love you.
