Obituary of Sterling E. Garrison

Sterling E. Garrison, age 84, of Hamilton, OH, passed away Monday, January 2, 2023, at his residence surrounded by family.  He was born in Hazard, KY on March 7, 1938, to the late Raleigh and Violet Garrison.  Sterling attended Deliverance Church of God and was a member of Glencoe Church of God.  He enjoyed fishing and listening to gospel music.  Sterling was a loving dad, grandpa, and brother who will be dearly missed for his great sense of humor and warm smile.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Thelma “Chriss” Garrison and his brothers.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Neil Garrison (Anne Marie), Debra Smith (Arlen), Doug Garrison (Katie), and Robin Sweet; stepdaughters, Pam Briggs (Berry) and Donna Hackney; several grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and his siblings, Sue T. Garrison, Ed Garrison, and Tommy Garrison.

Visitation will be Friday, January 6, 2023, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike Independence, KY 41051.  His funeral service will be Saturday, January 7, 2023, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.  Immediately following the service, Sterling will be laid to rest next to his wife at New Bethel Cemetery, Verona, KY 41092.  For directions or to leave the family a message of condolence, please visit the tribute wall above.
