Barry Lee True Obituary

Barry Lee True, 72, Ryland Heights, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2025, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. On his final evening, he found joy in listening the Super Bowl with his wife.

Born on November 16, 1952, in Covington, KY, the first son to Fenton and Betty (Scroggins) True. Barry dedicated 33 years to educating young minds as a passionate and inspiring math teacher at Twenhofel Middle School. His commitment to his students and his subject left an indelible mark on the community. Barry also dedicated time to coaching youth sports, imparting life lessons both on and off the field.

Beyond the classroom, Barry was a man of diverse interests. He relished afternoons on the golf course, was an avid supporter of University of Kentucky basketball, and took great pleasure in cooking, especially his renowned chili and delectable fudge. His green thumb was evident in his flourishing garden, where he meticulously tended to his green beans and corn. Evenings were often spent with family, enjoying movie nights filled with laughter and love. Family vacations held a special place in his heart, watching his grandson have fun and creating cherished memories that will be treasured for years.

Barry is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Sharon; their daughter, Sara True; and grandson, Mason Rudd. He is also survived by his sister, Vicki True; niece, Ashley Coppage and nephew, Shane Coppage; his aunt Nancy Scroggins; uncle, Bud Goodrich; and many friends.
