Henry Brinkman, 87, Beloved Husband, Grandfather, and Friend
Henry Brinkman, 87, passed away on February 20, 2025 with his wife by his side. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Henry lived a life full of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Born in Cincinnati, OH in 1937 to Henry and Rosina (Steenke) Brinkman. Henry proudly served in the U.S. Army, demonstrating courage, dedication, and a deep sense of duty to his country. After his service, he built a fulfilling life with his beloved wife, Rebecca (Slater) Brinkman, with whom he shared over 50 wonderful years. One of their favorite pastimes was bowling together, where they formed lifelong friendships and countless joyful memories.
Henry had a sharp mind and a love for puzzles, often spending hours solving Sudoku with ease. He looked forward to game nights with his dear friends, playing Rummy 500. However, nothing brought him greater joy than the time he spent with his granddaughter. Their trips to the horse park were a treasured tradition, filled with wonder, laughter, and a special bond that will live on in her heart forever.
Henry is survived by his wife; Rebecca Brinkman, his granddaughter; Kyla Brinkman, his best and dear friend; Jim Hyland, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son; Nicholas Brinkman, and his siblings; Rosemary Rudebush and Edward Brinkman.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at 10:00am at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, 8461 Dixie Highway, Florence, KY 41042. Service will begin at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his honor to St. Paul Parish in Florence, KY.
Henry’s legacy of kindness, love, and laughter will be forever cherished by those who knew him.
