Obituary of Shirley Foust
Shirley C. Foust, 87
Shirley Foust nee Gambrel, affectionately known as “Nana” to all who knew her, passed away peacefully at the age of 87. She was a woman whose warmth and kindness left a lasting imprint on everyone she met.
Shirley was a dedicated employee at Safeguard Corporation for many years until her retirement in 2000. Her greatest pride and joy in life was her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, and Nana. There wasn’t a person she met who didn’t hear about them or see a picture. Her home was a testament to the love she had for them, with many photos displayed throughout her home, each one a cherished memory. Her grandsons loved spending time at her home, where they were welcomed with love, laughter, and a house that was always clean and inviting.
A devoted member of Taylor Mill Pentecostal Church, Shirley was dedicated not only in faith but in service, spending time helping to clean the church she loved so dearly. Her faith guided her through life, and she embodied the values of kindness, generosity, and unwavering love.
Shirley’s legacy is one of family, and devotion. She was Nana not just to her grandsons, but to everyone blessed enough to know her. Though she will be deeply missed, her love and memories will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Preceding her in death is her husband; Gleason E Foust, her parents; Sawyer and Lucy Gambrel, her oldest brother Oakley Gambrel, and three infant siblings.
Left on earth to mourn her loss is her daughter; Judy Pascarella, siblings; June Larson, Ernest (Shirley) Gambrel, and Jerry Gambrel, her grandsons; Jerry (Lesley) Pascarella, Jamie (Kim) Pascarella, and Jody Pascarella, her great-grandchildren; Jerissa (Trenton) Crawley, Brianna Pascarella, Blake Pascarella, Mya Pascarella, Cole Pascarella, and Isabella Pascarella, as well as many nieces and nephews, and many more cherished friends.
A service to celebrate Shirley’s life will be held at Taylor Mill Pentecostal Church, on Friday, March 7th, 2025. Visitation will be at 5:00pm to 7:00pm with a funeral service to follow. On Saturday, March 8th, Shirley will be laid to rest next to her family at Big Jim Cemetery, in Arjay, KY. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Taylor Mill Pentecostal Church in her memory.
