Obituary of Anna Mae Simpson

Please share a memory of Anna to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Anna Mae Simpson, 95, of Walton, KY, passed away on Monday, March 3, 2025, at Boonespring Skilled Nursing Facility in Union, KY. The daughter of the late John Gilbert Wallace and Neva Alice {Fannin} Wallace, Anna was born in Mt. Orab, OH on May 1, 1929.

Anna, known by most as “Pete”, was a dedicated farm wife and homemaker.  In her younger days she and Ben loved to travel and camped all over the country. She was a fantastic cook and was famous for her chocolate fudge and yeast rolls. She loved to read and enjoyed nothing better than a good book. She was indeed the matriarch of the family and was the glue that held the whole bunch together. She was so loved by everyone who knew her and, as she always said, had a wonderful life!

She will be deeply missed by her beloved children, Neva (Bob) Gibson, Brenda (Bob) Messmer, Randy (Sue) Simpson, and Ben (Joy) Simpson; siblings Dick Wallace, Gerry Wallace, and Donna Dennis; 7 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Anna was preceded in death by her husband Ben Simpson and her two brothers, Art Wallace and Bill Wallace.

A private family graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family at Walton Cemetery. To share a memory of Anna with the family or to leave a condolence, please visit the corresponding tabs on this page.
