Shelia Ingram, 67, of Walton, KY, passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 27, 2025.
Born in Bexar County, TX, to Douglas and Shirley Ingram, Shelia embraced the life of a proud “military brat,” moving across the country as her father served in the United States Air Force. Though she did not serve in the military herself, she instilled a deep sense of patriotism in her family, and she took immense pride in the service of her three siblings and three children. She was, through and through, a proud American.
Shelia had a heart that thrived in caregiving. She raised her son and daughter before welcoming another son nearly two decades later, and she naturally extended her love by raising her grandson as well. Fiercely protective and unwaveringly strong, she ran her household with grit and determination, never one to back down or take nonsense from anyone.
Her giving spirit knew no bounds. She made friends wherever she went, greeting neighbors with warmth, sharing treats with their pets, and making every person feel like family. Her dearest friend, Debbie, was her partner in adventure. Traveling to many places in the U.S. like, the Great Smoky Mountains and Las Vegas, making cherished memories along the way.
Shelia found joy in life’s simple pleasures. If you were lucky enough to be her friend, you likely spent time shopping, dining out, or sharing laughter over a game of Bingo. She had a lucky touch at the casino and a knack for winning scratch-off tickets. Crafting and DIY projects were among her favorite pastimes, and many were blessed to receive a handmade gift infused with her love and creativity.
Shelia’s presence will be deeply missed but forever treasured in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Left to carry on her legacy are her beloved boyfriend, Arnold Foster; her children, James Riley, Michele Mingle, and Matthew Shepard; her grandchildren, Chris Odom and James D. Riley; and her brothers, Wade, Doug, and Barney Ingram. She also leaves behind many cherished family members, lifelong friends, and all those whose lives she touched.
A celebration of Shelia’s life will be held at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, 45 North Main St., Walton, KY 41094. Visitation will take place from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 7:00 PM.
