Obituary of JoAnne Partin
JoAnne Partin, née Pennington, 71, of Ludlow, KY, saw the face of and was reunited with her Lord and Savior on April 20, 2025. On this bittersweet Easter, JoAnne departed from the tender embrace of family to that of Jesus. Born on September 19, 1953, in Cincinnati, OH, she was the daughter of the late Gorman Pennington and Ella [Phillips] Pennington.
JoAnne was the beloved mom of Crystal “Faith” Partin, Heather (Josh) Fry, and Anita Johnson; dear companion and wife to Terry Coffey. She was stepmom to Gerald Coffey, Marie Coffey and Robert (Lisa) Coffey. In addition to several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she was MawMaw to the sunshines of her life: her grandchildren Halle, Ben, and Sophia. She was a treasured aunt “Annie” to many nieces and nephews. JoAnne will also be greatly missed by those in her Pleasant View Baptist church family, who consistently showed her unending love. JoAnne was welcomed into Heaven by her parents; her first husband Bennie Partin; daughter Shona; son Little Bennie; granddaughter Hannah; brothers Edwin “Eddie” Pennington, Herschel “Petey” Pennington, James Pennington and sisters Frances Schell, Sandra Gibbs and Vida Weiss.
Over the years, JoAnne held a variety of occupations. As a young girl, she sold grocery bags in Over The Rhine at Findlay Market to fostering children and making the most of her time with her family. She loved spending her days with her daughters and grandchildren attending Reds baseball games, Ludlow football, softball, and baseball. She cherished all those who surrounded her with love and never met someone who did not call her a friend.
One letter differentiated the surname of herself and her favorite musician – Dolly Parton. She enjoyed watching classic shows with her family like Wagon Train and Cheyenne as well as Lifetime and Hallmark Christmas movies. With all those who she loved in tow, JoAnne relished seeing new sights. She and her family traveled to Florida and the Southern United States, Central America, the Caribbean, and the West Indies. Wherever there was a beach, JoAnne was content.
Friends and family will gather to share memories, find solace in one another's company, and honor the legacy JoAnne leaves behind on Friday, April 25, 2025, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at JoAnne’s home church, Pleasant View Baptist, 240 Pike St, Bromley, KY 41016. The next day, JoAnne will be celebrated Home with a funeral service at 10:30 AM (also at the church). You’re invited to join in and receive the Message of God’s abiding love for us and the wonder and hope of the Resurrection. Directly following the funeral service, JoAnne will be laid to rest comfortably at Highland Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, KY.
