Obituary for Marsha Ross
December 11, 1958 – April 24, 2025
Marsha Lou Leek Ross, beloved mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home in Walton, Kentucky on Tuesday, April 24, 2025 at the age of 66. Born on December 11, 1958, to Billie Jean Black Leek and Walter Leek, Marsha was a woman of strength, grace, and unwavering devotion to those she loved.
A lifelong nurturer and the heart of her family, Marsha was the proud mother of three children: Julie Rea and her husband Houston, Bill Ross and his wife Ryanne, and Jill Ross. She was “Mamaw” to three grandchildren, Isaiah Rea, Cooper and Jordyn Ross. Her children and grandchildren were the joy of her life, and her legacy of kindness, perseverance, and unconditional love lives on through them.
Marsha shared 39 years of marriage with her husband, Bill Ross, who preceded her in death. Together, they built a life centered on family, laughter, and faith in God.
Marsha had a passion for working with young people and was a constant source of encouragement and inspiration. She coached softball for many years in the Boone County Girls Softball League, helping to shape not only skilled athletes but confident and compassionate young women. She also served as a dedicated youth leader at New Bethel Baptist Church, where she joyfully poured God's love into countless youth, leading by example with her faith, warmth, and generous spirit.
She is also survived by her siblings Karen Leek, Tony Leek (Debbie), and half-sisters Trixie Doll (Randy) and Vicky Osterfeld (John), who will remember her not only as a sister but as a loyal confidant and dear friend.
Marsha had a warm spirit and an open heart, qualities that made her a source of comfort and wisdom to all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by many friends and family.
A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, May 3, 2025, with a visitation from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm and the service beginning at 1:00 pm at New Bethel Baptist Church in Verona, Kentucky as long-time family friend Dr. Michael Cabell brings a message of hope and love. A burial service will follow at New Bethel Cemetery also in Verona.
