Robert Worstell Obituary

Robert Warner Worstell, 86, of Taylor Mill, Kentucky, passed away at his home on the afternoon of Monday, May 5, 2025. He has now entered eternal rest, free of pain, and has found a new home in Heaven.

Born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, Robert graduated from Withrow University High School before continuing his education at the University of Cincinnati, where he studied mathematics. A naturally analytical thinker, Robert found joy in solving complex number problems and immersing himself in books. He retired from a fulfilling career in quality control at the Ford Motor Company, where he was known by colleagues as “Gear Lab Bob.”

A quiet and thoughtful man, Robert preferred the comfort of home, a good book, and the company of his devoted wife over the bustle of large gatherings. An avid reader, he curated a personal library of over a thousand books—many of which he eagerly shared with others. Possessing a photographic memory, he had a remarkable ability to recall information with clarity and precision.

Robert was committed to service, both in his church and his community. A longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church, he offered his time and talents faithfully. He was also actively involved with the Boy Scouts of America and was a proud Eagle Scout himself. Throughout his life, Robert exemplified generosity and dedication—always ready to provide for the needs of his family and others, often before being asked.

He was a loving and involved father and grandfather, wholeheartedly supporting his children in all their endeavors, from golf and music lessons, to their personal and spiritual growth. His consistent, quiet strength empowered those around him to thrive. Above all, Robert was passionate about sharing the good news of Jesus Christ. In his later years, he continued to minister by witnessing to those who cared for him, often leaving nurses with “homework” of Bible verses and encouragement to explore the Scriptures.

Robert is preceded in death by his devoted parents; John and Jeanette Worstell, his first child; Abigail Worstell, and his big sister; Marcia Neal.

Surviving him is his wife of sixty years; Arlene Worstell (Huber), his children; Jonah (Crystal) Worstell, and Adelaide (Daniel) Kelsch, his brother; Jonathan Worstell, brother-in-law; Norman Neal, and his grandchildren; Riley (Lauren), Dylan, Gavin, Gage, and Cora Worstell.

Robert’s legacy of kindness, faith, and intellect will live on in the lives of those he touched. Each spring, the blooming of yellow daffodils will serve as a gentle reminder of his presence and the light he brought to the world.

Robert will be laid to rest at Spring Grove Cemetery, 4521 Spring Grove Ave, Cincinnati, OH.
