Mary Anna Stallsworth Ponder, age 86, of Union, KY (formerly of Piner, KY), passed away on Mother’s Day, May 11, 2025, at Boone Spring Care Center.  She was a homemaker and a member of Piner Baptist Church.  Mary loved spending time with her family and always placed them first, she truly exhibited sacrificial love to each of them.  A wonderful cook, her family will miss her meatloaf, salmon patties, fried potatoes and more…  She enjoyed being outdoors working in her vegetable or flower gardens or walking in the woods.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse Willard Stallsworth and Monnie Marie Daugherty Stallsworth, her husband (of over 61 years), Kenneth C. Ponder, and brother, William D. Stallsworth.  Mary is survived by her sons, Roger Dale (Deborah) Ponder, Steven Wade (Tracie) Ponder, and Bryan Casey (Kathy) Ponder; siblings, Ray (Janet) Stallsworth, Della (Michael) French, Carolyn Sue (Danny) Hinton, Samuel (Rosemary) Stallsworth, and Leonard Wayne (Sheila) Stallsworth; grandchildren, Rebecca (Joe) Aylor, Phillip Ponder, Jacob (Katelyn) Ponder, Amber (Jimmy) Aylor, Adam (Katie) Ponder, Derek (Courtney) Ponder, Megan (Jordan) Heuer, Curtis (Bailey ) Ponder, Devin (Olivia) Ponder, Sarah (John) Collins, Emily (Joe) Rider, and Katie (Jacob) Deaton; and twenty-five great grandchildren.  Visitation will be Saturday May 17, 2025, from 11 am to 1 pm with her funeral service immediately following at 1 pm at Big Bone Baptist Church, 11036 Big Bone Church Rd., Union, KY 41091.  Memorials may be made to Big Bone Baptist Church.  For directions, to view her Life Tribute Video or to leave the family a message of condolence, please go to www.chambersandgrubbs.com.
