Joy Belser Obituary

In Loving Memory of Joy Ann Belser

Joy Ann Belser, 55, of Morningview, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2025. Born in March 1970 to James and Bonita (Bickers) Albertson, Joy was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, James Albertson, and is survived by her sisters, Kelly and Diana, and her loving boyfriend, Raymond Sturgill, her children, and her lifelong partner and husband, Jesse Belser.

Joy's life was a testament to kindness, compassion, and unwavering support for others. Her greatest happiness came from being a mother, a role she embraced fully when she became "Mom" in 1987. She dedicated her life to raising her children—Josh Hopper, Andrea Hopper, Bradlee (Karen) Belser, and Megan Belser—and creating a home filled with love and laughter.

Joy was a beacon of light in her community, always ready to lend a helping hand. Whether it was offering a meal to someone in need or providing guidance to children and teens, her generosity knew no bounds. Her home was a sanctuary for many, a place where all were welcome and cared for.

Summers were Joy's favorite time of year. She delighted in grilling out for family gatherings, basking in the sun, and watching her grandchildren—Dakota, Randy, Jacobi, Maddie, Jacob, Gabe, Little Josh, Amara, Axel, and Raclynn—enjoy the trampoline in the yard. "Gammy's" house was a haven for sleepovers filled with late-night scary movies and cherished memories.

An avid reader and social butterfly, Joy cherished her friendships and the simple pleasures of life. In her later years, she enjoyed fishing— if she didn’t have to take the catch off the hook. Her love for the beach was evident in the many trips she took, always soaking up the sun in Punta Gorda with those she loved.

Joy is also survived by her beloved companion, Chip, a sweet yet feisty Yorkie who was undoubtedly a mama's boy.

A visitation and memorial service to celebrate Joy's life will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051. Visitation begins at 4:00 PM, followed by the service at 6:00 PM.

Joy's legacy of love, kindness, and selflessness will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
