Kelly Hensley, Jr., 67, of Covington, KY, passed away unexpectedly at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Edgewood, KY on June 2, 2025. Born on June 28, 1957, he was the son of the late Kelly Hensley, Sr., and Shirley Frederick Hensley Blevins.

Kelly relished playing chess and in his younger days; football. He was an over-the-road truck driver for many years.  Kelly’s body and soul, however, were devoted to the United States Marine Corps.  He proudly served his country, obtaining the rank of Lance Corporal and successfully completing NCO school.

Kelly was the father of Brittney Hensley; brother to Dennis Hensley, Linda Dawalt, Joe Hensley, Donnie Hensley, and Ronnie Hensley, as well as uncle to several nieces and nephews. Kelly was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Jeanna Johnson, niece Melissa Henman and nephew Shane Dawalt. He was opinionated and possessed a stubborn streak and yet beyond his rugged and tough exterior there was a man who was friendly and affable. He will be missed.

Kelly will be laid to rest with military honors on Monday, June 9, 2025  at 12:00 PM at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North, 205 Eibeck Ln, Williamstown, KY 41097.  Those wishing to honor Kelly’s legacy may make memorial donations or volunteer their time to an organization close to his heart – Welcome House, Inc.
