Denny Ransom Durham of Independence, age 69, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 6, 2025, while in the comfort of his home and with his loving family by his side. He was born in Danville, KY on May 16, 1956, to the late Marlene and Floyd Dennis Durham. A man of many passions and an unforgettable sense of humor, Denny filled every room with laughter, warmth, and a touch of mischief.

Denny was the kind of person who could make a friend anywhere. A true people person, he was most at home around a card table, preferably playing a good game of Rook. When he wasn’t playing cards, you could often find him bowling, casting a fishing line into the water, or tending to his garden. He was a big jokester and prankster, never missing an opportunity to get a laugh or pull a lighthearted trick. Denny’s great sense of humor was one of his most defining traits, and his ability to bring a smile to others is a legacy that will live on in the many stories his loved ones will continue to share. A true lover of music, Denny enjoyed all kinds—from rock and roll to gospel. He even enjoyed singing himself, particularly the high tenor parts. When it came to animals, his compassion knew no bounds. Whether it barked, purred, chirped, or crawled, Denny had a soft spot for all creatures and they, in turn, trusted and adored him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Ann Durham; children, Andrew Durham and Arica (Derek) Bushnell; grandchildren, Madalin Marie and Mister Lincoln; his brother, Robby (Sharon) Durham; sister-in-law, Peggy McConnell; longtime friend, Lawson Warman, Jr.; as well as several other close friends and relatives who will cherish his memory.

A gathering of friends will be held on Friday, June 13, 2025, from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM, at Hickory Grove Baptist Church, 11969 Taylor Mill Rd. Independence, KY 41051. The memorial service will begin at 6:00 PM.
