Evelyn Frances Sandlin (Runion), age 93, of Crittenden, KY passed away on Saturday, June 7, 2025.

She is preceded by her husband; Preston Sandlin, her parents; Ernest and Hazel (Moore) Runion, her brothers; John, Bill, Allen, and Ronnie Runion; her son; James Grant Sandlin, grandson; Preston Lee Sandlin, and great-granddaughter; Alexis Schmidt. There is certainly a joyous heavenly reunion.

Evelyn was a classy woman who cared for her home, her family, and herself with the utmost detail and respect. As the only sister to six brothers, she clung to the girly side of life. She and Preston raised their children in Union, KY in a home they built in the early 1950s. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She enjoyed traveling with her dear friend; Dee, and with her daughter to places including Myrtle Beach and Gatlinburg. She always had a fun time at the Florence Speedway, though she would watch the races from her RV in turn two, safe from all the dust. In her later years she was promoted from “Mom” to “Nanny” and with her great-grandchildren, to “Granny”.

Evelyn is survived by her children, Gerald (Julie) Sandlin Sr, and Sherry Schmidt, her brothers; Joe Runion and Russell (Jill) Runion, grandchildren; Gerald “Duane” Sandlin Jr., Brian Scott Sandlin, Troy David (Amy) Schmidt, Douglas Aaron (Katie Beach) Schmidt, Michael Grant (Danielle) Schmidt, seven great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 13, 2025 at the Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home 8461 Dixie Hwy, Florence, KY 41042 at 11:00am. Service will follow at 1:00pm. Evelyn will be laid to rest next to her husband at Big Bone Baptist Church Cemetery.
