James Lee "Big Jim" Naive Obituary

Surrounded by his beloved family and friends, James "Big Jim" Lee Naive departed this world on June 8, 2025.  A man of great passion and skill, he found immense joy in drag racing and spent countless hours perfecting engines in his shop. His hands shaped more than metal--they built power, speed, and a legacy of dedication to his craft.

Jim is survived by his cherished sons, Jimmy (Nikki) and Nathan (Lisa), and leaves behind his loving grandchildren: Tony Mann, Tyler (Jenna) Spegal, Ashley (Tyler) Groneck, Jordan Naive, David (Brooke) Carnes, Dylan (Caitlin) Carnes, Reagan Naive and 8 great grandchildren. His family was the heart of his world and his love for them never wavered. Beverly Fugazzi, the mother of his children, remained an important part of his journey through life. He was preceded in death by his parents James and Leona Naive and dear friend, Wendall Barger.

His friendships were as deep as his dedication, with special friends like Troy Gadker, Joe Duncan, Chuck Black, Richard Harney, Bill Kees, David Hopper and many others who shared his passion for racing, engines and strong bonds. Jim's family and friends will carry forward his memory, ensuring his spirit lives on in every engine's roar and every project completed with care.

Jim's presence will be dearly missed but never forgotten. His legacy of horsepower, loyalty and love will live on in those who had the privelege of knowing him.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Jim's farm on Friday, June 13, 2025 from 3pm until dark.
