Zeita Faye Scheper, 71, née Hall, passed away unexpectedly on June 10, 2025.  Born in Jackson, KY on December 19, 1953, she was the daughter of the late Alfred Hall and Jalie Turner Hall.

Zeita’s career was as an administrative assistant for Newport Independent Schools. She worked in the central office, and it was here that she met the love of her life in John Scheper. She retired after many years of service. Zeita relished decorating the meticulously kept home she and John kept for all seasons.  It was cheerful and always “neat as a pin.” Within its comforts, Zeita enjoyed watching the Hallmark channel or her favorite game shows, playing wordsearch puzzles, knitting or crocheting or tending to her massive flower garden.  A woman of devout Christian faith, she was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Cold Spring. Zeita was a thrifty individual but never shabby.  Like so many things that colored her life, she herself was simple yet elegant. It’s this way that she’ll be held and remembered forever deep in our hearts.

Zeita was the dear sister to three brothers and three sisters;  step-mom to Kent Scheper (Amanda), Traci Zimmerman (Dan), Jeff Scheper (Susie); step-grandmother to several grandchildren and as well as one great-grandchild.  Additionally, she was a treasured aunt to numerous nieces and nephews. Zeita was predeceased by her parents, three siblings as well as her husband John Scheper.

Friends and family will gather to share memories, find solace in one another's company, and honor the legacy Zeita leaves behind on Thursday, June 19, 2025 from 10:00 AM until shortly before the time of the funeral ceremony at 12:00 PM, both at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike, Independence, KY, 41051.

Directly following the funeral, Zeita will be laid to rest gently at Independence Cemetery, 5358 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051.

Memorial donations in Zeita’s honor may be made in person at services or online to New Perceptions, 1 Sperti Drive, Edgewood, KY 41017..
