Arlene Elizabeth Worstell (Huber), age 86, of Taylor Mill, KY, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2025.

Born to Clifford and Hazel Huber, Arlene was their only child, but she was never without a sense of family. She was part of a large German extended family that was close-knit and  she cherished the many cousins who enriched her life. Her early years were spent moving with her parents to various homes, each experience shaping the thoughtful, kind woman she became.

Arlene eventually settled in Cincinnati, Ohio with her high school sweetheart, Bob Worstell. It was there that she began a career in education as a fifth-grade teacher at Hyde Park Elementary School. Teaching was more than a job to her—it was a style she carried throughout her life, both in and out of the classroom.

Family life was full of simple joys and traditions: summer drives through various neighborhoods sharing both local history and family history entrenched with favorite memories. Those drives often ended with a visit to UDF or Aglamesis Bros for ice cream and sometimes to Lunken Airport to watch the airplanes. Arlene stepped away from full-time teaching to be at home with her children but continued to share her love of learning through substitute teaching and creative, hands-on activities. The house was always alive with crafts, pinecone projects, games, and the warmth of an open door to friends and sleepovers.

A lifelong reader, Arlene especially loved fiction, and she was always up for a card game or board game with loved ones. In her later years, she found joy in shopping trips to craft stores or a giftshop stocked with handmade creations with her daughter, and treasured time with her granddaughter—especially when they played their favorite game of “School.”

Arlene was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert “Bob” Worstell; her dear daughter, Abigail Elizabeth Worstell; and her parents, Clifford and Hazel Huber.

She is survived by her children; Jonah (Crystal) Worstell and Adelaide Elizabeth (Daniel) Kelsch, grandchildren; Riley (Lauren), Dylan, Gavin, Gage, and Cora Worstell, and many church friends and extended family.
