John Michael Witherow, a proud husband and father, United States Army veteran, and accomplished leader in the field of computer technology, passed away peacefully at his home in Northern Kentucky on Saturday, July 5th, 2025—just days shy of his 90th birthday. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri, John attended West Point US Military Academy. He met and married the love of his life, Roberta Reid, and they headed to California to begin their lives together.  His intellect, work ethic, and leadership saw him rise through the ranks to become CEO of several computer companies.

Throughout their marriage, John and Roberta embraced new chapters together, moving from Florida’s warm shores to Framingham, Massachusetts, where they remained close to family. In his final years, John settled in Kentucky, lovingly cared for by his daughter.

John was a man of discipline and action. An early riser, he often accomplished more before his morning coffee than most might in a full day. He took pride in maintaining his home, enjoyed working outdoors, and was an avid follower of politics and current events. He was especially fond of reading books on history and government, always eager to learn more. In Massachusetts, he was part of a close-knit group who shared laughs and lively games of handball.

Though John found deep satisfaction in his professional and personal accomplishments, it was his role as grandfather that brought him the most joy. He cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren, creating memories full of warmth, wisdom, and love.

John is preceded by his parents: John and Ruby Lou (Cass) Witherow; wife, Roberta Witherow; and sister, Monica Kamler. He is survived by his son, Brad Witherow; daughter, Cara (Michael) Siggins; and grandchildren, Mae (Michael) Pickering, Tess (Adam) Blanchette, Rory Siggins, Finn Siggins, Seamus Siggins, and Clare Siggins.

John Michael Witherow leaves behind a legacy of dedication, integrity, and devotion to family—a life well-lived, and a man well-loved.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, July 15th at Our Lady of the Assumption Church 472 Beaver Rd, Walton, KY 41094. Mass will begin at 10 AM, family will greet friends between 9:30 AM and 10:00 AM. John will be laid to rest at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North in Williamstown, where military honors will be held.
