Helen Lyons of Villa Hills passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 17, 2025, leaving behind a life full of warmth, humor, and generosity. Known for her quick wit and open heart, Helen had a way of making everyone feel welcome. She enjoyed the simple joys in life such as cooking for her family, playing slots, card games like Rummy, working on crosswords, and spending some time outdoors fishing. Helen was an active member of her community, including the Red Hat Society, a charter member of the Lions Club, a supporter of the Ladies Auxiliary of Veterans, and an honored Kentucky Colonel. Through these roles, she gave back in countless ways and formed many friendships. More than anything, Helen loved her family- she was truly a nurturer who adored all children. A loving mother, devoted grandmother, and cherished friend, her legacy of love, laughter, and devotion to her family will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Christina Sullivan, Alexa Roll, Brittney Lyons, and Hannah Lyons; great-grandchildren, Ashia, Myla, Charlee, Douglas, Caleb, and Cameron; nieces, nephews, and other relatives who will cherish her memory.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Flora {Morgan} and Mitchell Combs; husband, George Lyons; children, Douglas and Theresa Lyons; brothers, Jess, Roy, Curt, John, James, Mitchell Jr., and Donald Combs; and her sisters, Linda Ragland, Pauline Bailey, Dolly Titus, Anna Mae Centers, and Maria Jump.
