Kay Corbin Obituary

Kay Corbin passed away peacefully at age 84, while in the comfort of her own bed on Wednesday, September 10, 2025. She was born in Cincinnati, OH on March 5, 1941, to the late Ruth {Schubler} and Walter Etson. Kay will be remembered as a devoted mother and proud “Granny” whose joy was found in family and in life’s simple pleasures. After retiring from owning her own ceramics shop, she continued to enjoy creating ceramics. She loved shopping- especially at Walmart, and she had a special place in her heart for Disney, with Mickey Mouse being her very favorite. Kay had a strong Christmas spirit; she deeply enjoyed the comfort in keeping her home decorated. Kay also enjoyed traveling and made memorable trips to places like Hawaii and Germany. She and her late husband spent countless days together on the river at Camp Turnabout. Even in her 70s, she could be found riding a Seadoo on the river, proving her adventurous spirit never faded. Above all, Kay’s greatest pride and joy came from her family. She was a devoted mother and a cherished Granny to many, always offering love, encouragement, and laughter. Her presence will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who were blessed to know her.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Donald “Jerry” Corbin; son, Keith Corbin; daughter, Debbie Brewer Corbin; brother, Ronnie Etson; and brother-in-law, Wayne works.

She is survived by her loving son, Rick (Rhonda) Corbin; siblings, Dennis (Judy) Etson and Jackie Works; beloved grandchildren, Andrew (Valerie) Corbin, Amanda (Pete) Holt, Lindsey Brewer, Josh Kreidler, and Daniel Brewer; great-grandchildren, Nathan, Trinity, Evan, Olivia, Adam, Zoey, Josh, and Jace; as well as other friends and relatives who will cherish her memory.

A visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM, on Monday, September 15, 2025, at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051.
