Michele Louise Smith, 71, of Independence, KY, passed away on October 13, 2025.

She was the daughter of the late Douglas and Joan Westerman. Michele retired from the IRS in Covington, KY, and was the beloved wife of 52 years to Dale Smith, whom she met at the age of 17.

Michele is survived by her loving husband, Dale, and their sons, Jason Smith and Daniel (Julie) Smith. She is also survived by her brother, Doug Westerman; sister, Toni McDonald; and grandchildren, Kolton Smith and Kearstin Sparks, along with Kearstin’s children, Kiel Kemp and Kynan Cox.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Kathy Drake, and brother, Bill Westerman.

A reception to celebrate Michele’s life will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 12:00–2:00 PM at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051.
