Mary Margaret Osborne Hellmann, age 93, of Independence, KY, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.

Mary was a lifelong Farmer, Homemaker, and a faithful member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church in Independence. A woman of action more than words, she was known for her strength, honesty, and willingness to share her thoughts. Growing up on a farm helped shape her remarkable work ethic, which carried through to her own family and farm life.

Even in her later years, Mary could often be found tending to her yard or helping on the farm. She was a talented cook who lovingly baked birthday cakes for her grandchildren each year. Devoted to her family, Mary treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren — crafting, painting, and rarely missing one of their events or activities.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Carl Hellmann; her parents, John and Myra Goldsberry Osborne; her brother, Otis Osborne; and her sisters, Bea Cotton, Thelma Kays, and Judy Brewer.

Mary is survived by her loving son, Dr. Jay Hellmann (Sue); and her cherished grandchildren, C.J. Hellmann, III, Courtney Mace (Paul), and Christopher Hellmann (Mysha).

Private services were held for the family, with interment at Independence Cemetery. Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
