Mary Lou Maloney, born November 23, 1940, in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky entered eternal life on October 27, 2025.

Mary Lou was an alcohol treatment therapist at Bethesda Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio for over 40 years. During that time, she saved many people’s lives who were subjected to addiction and alcoholism. Mary Lou enjoyed over 52 years of sobriety and was guided into helping others attain sobriety in their lives. In her younger years, Mary Lou was known as a tremendous athlete and played softball for one of the first women’s leagues in Northern Kentucky known as The Dukettes. She also helped coach many of the young aspiring athletes in our community.

Mary Lou’s survivors include her life partner, Margo Grubbs, stepdaughter, Krista Lee Lahner-Thomas, nieces, Donna Clark (Carl), Dianna Sampson, Luann Schulkers (Ron), nephews, Charles Combs (Lezlie), Craig Combs (Valerie), Tom Dunwoody (Linda) and Jeff Dunwoody.

She is predeceased by all of her sisters and brother, and beloved nephew, Robert Wermeling and her stepson, Tony Miller.

She has countless great nieces and nephews, great-greats and great-great-greats. She loves them all.

Funeral mass will be held at Blessed Sacrament Church, 2409 Dixie Hwy, Fort Mitchell, KY 41017 on Friday, November 7, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. A Reception will follow the mass at Blessed Sacrament Church Hall from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
