Alan Lynn “Buddy” Love, age 94, of Union, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at Story Point Assisted Living in Richwood.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Della Marie Jones Love; his parents, Linnie and Eunice (Cason) Love; brothers, Harold Love (Alberta), Shelton Love (Audrey), and Alfred Love (Allie Mae); and his sister, Jean Harrison (Bob).

Survivors include his daughters, Debbie Rogers (Dan) of Somerset, KY, and Darla Schwenke (Bob) of Union, KY; grandchildren, Julie Petit (Michael), Mark Rogers (Sarah), Brad Schwenke (Amanda), and Greg Schwenke (Chelsea); great-grandchildren, Anna Rogers, Cole Schwenke, Nora Schwenke, A.J. Schwenke, and Alexus Schwenke; along with many other relatives and dear friends.

Alan, along with his brothers Shelton and Alfred, owned and operated Love Brothers Service Station and Body Shop on U.S. 25 near Walton, KY, for thirty-one years. Following his retirement, he continued working for Budget Rental Car and Turfway Park Race Track for approximately twenty years.

A lifelong and the eldest member of Big Bone Baptist Church in Union, Alan’s faith and dedication were an important part of his life. Affectionately known as “Buddy,” he greatly enjoyed spending time with family and friends and took pleasure in traveling, camping, boating, fishing, water skiing, and bowling.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon, with the funeral service immediately following at 12:00 noon at Big Bone Baptist Church, 11036 Big Bone Church Road, Union, KY 41091. Interment will follow at Big Bone Baptist Church Cemetery.
