David “Jeffy” Estes, age 66, passed away unexpectedly on January 2, 2026, at his home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David Lee Estes and Mary (Book) Estes, and his brother, Andrew Estes.
David retired from Interplastic Corporation, where he worked as a supervisor for many years. He was a proud graduate of Lloyd Memorial High School, where he played football and was affectionately known as “Whale.” His team proudly won the championship the year he graduated.
David had a deep love for the outdoors, especially hunting, and he was a devoted fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, with a special admiration for Coach Andy Reid. Above all, he cherished time spent with his great-nieces and great-nephews, whom he loved dearly.
Known as a big teddy bear with a soft heart, David touched the lives of many with his kindness, humor, and gentle spirit.
He is survived by his sisters, Cindy (Jim) Gosney and Mary (Roger) Winans, and his brothers, Bobby Estes and Dan Estes, along with many special nieces and nephews who will miss him greatly.
