Carol Rose Howard, 63, of Ft. Thomas, KY, passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2026. The daughter of the late Martha {Harrington} and Charles Kammerer, Carol was born in Cincinnati, OH, on March 17, 1962.

Carol Howard was a devoted grandmother, loving family matriarch, and a woman whose kitchen was the heart of her home. She took great joy in her grandchildren and treasured every moment spent with them, always making sure they felt loved, welcomed, and well fed. She took pride in classic Southern-style meals. Her family especially cherished her chicken and dumplings and her homemade coleslaw. She believed in doing things the right way, especially in her kitchen. Carol was famously adamant about not letting anyone touch her kitchen, and she preferred washing every dish by hand, never trusting a dishwasher to do the job properly. When she wasn’t caring for her family, she enjoyed listening to classic country music and cheering on her beloved UK Wildcats.

Carol’s memory lives on through her grandchildren, Roger Dalton Jr., Gabriel Dalton, and Tyler Dalton; her eight great-grandchildren; and her sisters Marlene (David) King and Mary (Jack) Wilson.

In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Mitchell Howard; her daughter Marlene Howard; her brothers, James Harrington and Carl “Moose” Krammerer; and her sister Catherine Dunn.
