Brenda Brown, 74, of Walton, Kentucky, passed away leaving behind a legacy of generosity, color, and unmistakable individuality.
Brenda was a giving soul who believed deeply in helping others, especially those experiencing homelessness. She often said that offering kindness was a test of faith—in case it was Jesus testing us—and she lived that belief through quiet acts of compassion and care. Caring by nature and delightfully eccentric, Brenda embraced life in her own vibrant way.
She was rarely seen without an outfit full of color, carefully chosen and joyfully worn, and she loved helping others decide what to wear as well. No matter the occasion, Brenda never left the house without her signature red lipstick—a small but powerful statement of confidence and flair.
Brenda had a passion for yard sales and treasure hunting, with a special love for the Route 42 sale. She delighted in finding both treasures and “junk,” all of which somehow found a meaningful place in her home. Her house was a reflection of her creativity and joy, always being decorated and redecorated in themed collections that included chickens, roosters, and Coca-Cola memorabilia.
Above all, Brenda loved caring for her family and her home. She took pride in creating a space filled with warmth, personality, and love—a place where others felt welcomed and cared for, just as she intended.
Brenda Brown will be remembered for her generous heart, her colorful spirit, her faith in kindness, and the joy she brought into everyday life. She leaves behind memories as vibrant and enduring as the red lipstick she never forgot to wear.
Preceding her in death are her parents; Cleo and Pauline Jones. Surviving her are her daughters; Paula (Jamie) Barnes and Trisha (Chris) Alsip, grandchildren; Alexis (Jake) Mays, Jake Alsip, Ashley (Brian) Witt, Kenetra (Matt) Fee, Cana Meyers, and Mykia Barnes, six great-grandchildren; Riley, Wesley, Kailey, Easton, Waylon, and Xavier, and her beloved pup; Bella.
