Ricky Lynn Teague, age 71, of Burlington, passed away on February 13, 2026.

Born in Arkansas to his parents, Robert River Teague and Mary Irene Saddler Teague, Ricky carried his Southern roots with him throughout his life. He was a proud, hardworking man who believed in providing for his family and living simply and honestly.

Ricky retired from Nucor Gallatin Steel after many years of dedicated service. Known for his strong work ethic, he was a dependable provider and a man who took great pride in a job well done.

He shared 41 wonderful years of marriage with the love of his life, Denise (O’Daniel) Teague, who survives him. He is also survived by his son, Matthew (Alyssa) Teague; his cherished granddaughter, Madlyn Teague, who brought him immeasurable joy; his sisters, Ann Knapp; and his brother, Jim Teague.

Ricky was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Rena.

A true fan of the Arkansas Razorbacks, Ricky rarely missed a chance to cheer them on. He loved fishing and hunting and found peace in the outdoors. Above all, he was a simple man who loved deeply — especially his beloved granddaughter, Madlyn. His quiet strength, steady presence, and unwavering devotion to his family will be dearly missed.

Visitation will be held at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051, on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Burial will take place at a later date at Independence Cemetery.

Attendees are encouraged to wear Arkansas Razorbacks colors in honor of Ricky’s lifelong team spirit.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Boone County Animal Shelter, 5620 Idlewild Drive, Burlington, KY 41005.

Ricky will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, loyal brother, and faithful friend. His legacy of hard work, love, and quiet strength will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
