Robert "Bob" Wehner Obituary

Robert “Bob” Wehner, age 81, passed away peacefully at home on February 25, 2026.

Born on March 7, 1944, to the late Robert Lee Wehner and June Irene (Baker) Wehner, Bob lived a life marked by dedication, service, and pride in all he accomplished. On his journey through life, he was blessed with 58 years of marriage to his beloved wife, Joyce (Swango) Wehner, who survives him.

Bob was a faithful member of Grassy Creek Christian Church and lived his faith through service and fellowship. He was honored as a Kentucky Colonel, a distinction he carried with pride. Bob served his community as a Sergeant with the Kenton County Police Reserve Unit and also worked in security at Thornhill Dragstrip. He was a proud member of the National Rifle Association and had a lifelong appreciation for guns and knives.

A skilled craftsman and outdoorsman, Bob had a passion for building log cabins on his property which brought him immense pride and joy.  He delighted in sharing them with others, often giving farm tours to members of the community, including residents of local nursing homes. He loved fishing and treasured his annual trips to Gatlinburg with his dear friends Eddie Compton and Dennis Carr, a tradition they faithfully kept for over 20 years.

Bob enjoyed life’s simple pleasures: caramels, pretzels, dark chocolates, and good company. He was a man who valued friendship, hard work, and sharing what he had with others.

In addition to his wife, Joyce, he is survived by his sister, Linda Wehner; his brother, Richard (Carolyn) Wehner; and many extended family members and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
