Elaine A Newell Sweet of Walton, KY, passed away peacefully on March

14, 2026. She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Walter Sweet,

Sr; her sons, Walter Jr, John, and James. Her grandchildren, Justin,

Michael, Shawn, Matthew, Sophia, Sullivan, Jessica; great grandchildren,

Elliot, Mason, Olivia, Warren, Raymond, and Adriana.

Elaine is also survived by her sister, Patty Hicks; many nieces, nephews,

and their families. She was predeceased by her parents, and her brothers

Earl and Edward ”Butch” Jr.

Elaine was born November 7,1939, the first daughter of Edward A and

Theresa C Newell. She grew up in Northeastern Pennsylvania where she

met, and then married the love of her life, Walter Sweet, on March 16,

1957. In 1971, they settled in Kentucky where their family grew. Although

family always came first, she had room in her heart for those who needed

to be loved.

The spring flowers and the return of the hummingbirds brought a smile to

her face. This spring, Elaine’s life is renewed in Heaven.

In keeping with her request, there will be no services. Elaine will be laid to

rest in the hills of Pennsylvania, at the convenience of the family.
