Vicki D. Smock of Verona, age 71, passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood, KY. She was born in Covington, KY on August 10, 1954, to the late Thelma “Pearl” {Baker} and Roy B. Haynes. Vicki graduated college with a Bachelor's of Elementary Education and retired from Cincinnati Bell to begin her teaching career. She actively volunteered for events at her church and the Simon Kenton concession stand. However, Vicki’s most important title was being Memaw to her grandkids who she absolutely adored. She consistently showed up to games, plays, and other events to show her unwavering support. She was so proud of her grandchildren and wanted them to feel loved. Often, she would show her love through her cooking. Vicki eagerly hosted her family gatherings; her favorite holidays were Christmas and Easter. She enjoyed making good food for others to enjoy- and they did, especially her cheeseball. She also loved spending her time crafting and working in her flower garden. Vicki was a wife, mom, memaw, and sister who will be remembered for her strength and for the care she gave to others.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Donald “Pete” (Erlene) Haynes and Linda “Darlene” Haynes.

She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Dan Smock; children, Danielle (Todd) Fuller, Justin (Deanna) Smock, Jared (Theresa) Smock, and David “Kyle” (Ivy) Smock; 15 beloved grandchildren; brothers, David (Alice) Haynes and Dennis (Debbie) Haynes; her sweet German shepherd, Abby; as well as several other friends and relatives who will cherish her memory.

A gathering of friends will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Walton, 47 S. Main St. Walton, KY 41094. A memorial service will begin at 12:00 PM. Immediately following the service, a reception will be held at the church. Memorial donations can be made in her name to First Baptist Church of Walton.
