Ruth Ann Groeschen Obituary

Ruth Ann Groeschen (Dutko), 79, of Florence, Kentucky, passed away peacefully in the stillness of the night on Saturday, April 4, 2026. She is now out of pain and her mind is at ease after experiencing multiple medical issues and suffering for years from dementia.

Ruth dedicated over 25 years to clerical and support roles at Fifth Third Bank. She enjoyed getting dressed up and working downtown. After retiring, she worked for several years at TJ Maxx, where she enjoyed connecting with customers. She was also active in the Villa Hills Homemakers while raising her children. Later, Ruth spent over 15 years as a member of the Cincinnati Bop Club, where she was an avid and skilled swing dancer.

Ruth took great pride in her home and appearance—always polished, with her hair, makeup, and outfits perfectly coordinated. She loved decorating, antiquing, and gardening. You would never find her without a glass of iced tea or a vase of flowers close by. She loved animals, though she never had any of her own, and was a consistent supporter of the SPCA.

She enjoyed hosting friends and family for parties, especially at Christmas as it was her favorite holiday. She was incredibly kind and thoughtful, always making others feel welcome—often remembering the little things, like keeping a favorite snack or drink on hand. In her later years, Ruth enjoyed her time at Legacy Living, where she was well loved and a friend to all. Above all, Ruth cherished spending time with her grandchildren and always encouraged them to pursue their dreams.

Preceding her in death are her mother, Mary Alice Dutko (Mears); brother, Michael Frank Dutko Jr.; and daughter, Nancy Lynn Groeschen.

She is survived by her daughter, Jill (Matt) Storer; sister, Sue Logsdon; and grandchildren, Luke, Autumn, and Anna Storer. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Please join family and friends as they honor Ruth. Funeral Services will be held at the Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home 8461 Dixie Highway, Florence, KY 41042 on Saturday, April 11th.Visitation will be held from 2:00pm until 3:00pmwith a brief service to follow.
