Raylene Marie Chambers Obituary

Raylene Marie Lucas Chambers, 69, of Florence, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2026.

Raylene was a devoted wife, mother, and “Mammy” to her beloved grandchildren. She found her greatest joy in spending time with her family, especially baking alongside her grandkids. She loved trying new recipes and filled her home with cookbooks, always eager to create something special to share.

Born just three days after Christmas, Raylene often joked that her birthday was overlooked when it came to presents—a story she told with humor and warmth throughout her life. She had a fondness for shopping from catalogs—especially placing the orders—and took simple pleasure in finding little things that brought her happiness.

Raylene also cherished quiet evenings at home, cuddled up on the couch with her husband, watching her favorite shows such as Fantasy Island, I Love Lucy, and MASH*. She had a deep love for animals and especially enjoyed watching animal documentaries.

She is survived by her loving husband, Paul Chambers; her daughters, Kristin (Travis) Brummett, Vanessa Chambers, and Felicia Helvey, who she loved as a daughter; and her cherished grandchildren, Jacob Brummett, Emily (Nick) Ceboci, and Sarah Brummett.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) in Raylene’s honor.

Please join her family on Thursday, May 7, 2026 at the Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051. Visitation begins at 3:00pm until the start of the service at 5:00pm.

Raylene will be remembered for her warmth, her sense of humor, and the love she poured into her family and home.
