Shawn Alexander Switzer of Florence, Kentucky, passed away at the age of 34. Born on March 4, 1992, Shawn lived a life shaped by the interests that brought him joy and reflected the things he loved most. His memory will be treasured by those who will continue to speak his name with affection.

Shawn found enjoyment in the simple pleasures that made his world uniquely his own. He enjoyed watching anime, spending time collecting Pokémon cards in search of the rare arts, and playing video games, with Final Fantasy and Zelda as his favorite. He also had an interest in Honda cars, another part of the life and passions that brought him happiness. These hobbies were more than pastimes; they were part of the story of who he was.

Shawn’s life will remain connected to the love and bonds he shared with those closest to him. Shawn is preceded by his father; Brian Switzer, grandmother; Deborah Ridner, great-grandmother; Delores Newby, and his uncle Chris Ridner. He is survived by his mother; Stacey (DJ Schoen) Ridner, brother; Andy Switzer, grandparents; Kathy (Tom) Jansen and Boyce Ridner, great-grandfather; James Newby, nieces; Zoey and Zyla Switzer, aunt; Melissa Ridner, cousins; Destiny Ridner Damian, and Daxton York, as well as many friends.

Services in Shawn’s honor will be held on Friday, August 7th, 2026 at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, 8461 Dixie Highway, Florence, KY 41042. Visitation from 11:30am to 1:30pm with a service to begin at 1:30pm. Shawn will be laid to rest at Hughes Chapel Cemetery.
