Obituary of Ruth Custer

Ruth Osborne Custer, 88, of Independence, died Friday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence. She was a retired cook with Independence Baptist Home and a member of First Baptist Church of Independence. Her husband, Oscar Hildred Custer, died in 2005.
Survivors include a son, Gerald Wayne Custer; a daughter, Loretta Eversole of Cincinnati; brothers, Harvey Smith Osborne of Henderson and Edgar Elmo Osborne of Taylor Mill; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Independence. Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Dry Ridge. Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church, 11659 Madison Pike, Independence, Ky. 41051.
