Obituary of Alice Meece

Alice Fay Goerler Meece, age 73, of Glencoe, died Sunday, May 1, 2011, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Florence. She was a homemaker, who enjoyed genealogy and flower gardening. Her husband, James Ensel Meece preceded her in death in 2005. Survivors include her sons, James Allen Meece and John Ensel Meece; daughter, Deborah Jean Meece; brother, Terry Lee Goerler; sisters, Jacqueline Mae Courter, Betty Jean Duncan, and Roxanne Kenwright; and grandson, James Cody Meece.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home in Independence is serving the family. Interment will be at Independence Cemetery.
Memorials can be made to the American Diabetes Foundation.
