Obituary of Howard Smith

Howard Russell Smith, 92, of Aurora, Indiana formerly of Walton passed away Monday, May 2, 2011 at his residence. He was a heavy equipment operator, an Army Veteran of WWII, a member of the VFW Post 6428 of Addyston, OH and enjoyed farming cattle, tobacco and horses. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Lee Phillips in 1992, wife Lucille Smith in 2001 and Brother William Thomas Smith in 2006. Survivors include daughters Madeleine Smith Weaver of Aurora, IN, Jeanna Tracy Marcum of McKee, KY and Cynthia Briggs of Independence, KY; sister Juanita Lacey of Harrison, OH; grandchildren Kimberly Weaver Swanson, Neil Weaver, Sarah Marcum, Dennis Briggs and Daniel Briggs and great-grandchild Landon Weaver. Visitation will be from 11 AM until time of funeral service at 1 PM, Wednesday, May 4, 2011, at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home of Walton. Burial will be at New Bethel Cemetery in Verona. Memorials may be directed to Dearborn County Hospital and Hospice, 370 Bilby Rd. Lawrenceburg, IN 47025.
