Edith Mahan, 71, of Independence, died on Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at her residence. She was preceded in death by her father Bill Turner; sister, Shirley Haley; & brother, Jim Turner. She is survived by her husband, Bill Mahan; daughters, Kathy Combs Schulte of Leesville, LA, Pam Combs Hicks of Chandler, AZ, Connie Combs of Yorktown, VA; step sons, Billy Ray Mahan of Ohio, Danny Mahan of Ludlow, KY, Randy Mahan of Ludlow, KY, Tim Mahan of Ludlow, KY ; mother, Stella Turner of Park Hills, KY; sisters, Joyce Torline of Butler, KY; brothers, Dan Turner of Park Hills, KY, Bill Turner of Batavia, OH, Bob Turner of Eddy, TX; 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Friday, July 1, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home of Independence with the funeral service following at 7 p.m.. Mrs. Mahan will be laid to rest at Floral Hills Memorial Garden of Taylor Mill Saturday July 2nd. Memorials may be made to the Foundation for Children with Microcephaly P.O.
