Obituary of Michael Turner

Michael Wayne Turner, age 35 of Newport, passed away suddenly Saturday, July 9, 2011 at his residence. He was a welder for Andrews Laser Works. An outdoorsman, he enjoyed hiking and fishing. He was preceded in death by his father Dennis Turner.
He is survived by his mother Sheila Turner of Florence; sister Georgia Turner and nephew Shane Moore, both of Newport; aunts Sandra Burton, Sharon Wagoner, Teresa Schuman, Debbie Combs, Wanda Childers, Pam Guzman, Mary Teremi, Barbra Reese and Angela Shields; uncles, Melbourne Jr. Cornett, Elijah Cornett and Mike Turner; grandparents Melbourne and Geraldine Cornett; and girlfriend Tammy Simmons.
Services will be at Chambers & Grubbs Florence. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 12, 2011 from 6-9 pm. Funeral service will be Wednesday 11 am. Burial will be in Rice Cemetery in Union.
