Obituary of Bernard Henderson

Bernard “Barney” Henderson, age 58, of Independence, KY, passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at his residence.  He was an Outside Sales Representative for Arts Rental who specialized in excavation and heavy equipment.  Barney enjoyed working on “muscle cars” and took great pride in his 2008 Corvette.  He also enjoyed scuba diving and spending time with his family.  His father, Jerry Lavern Henderson, and mother, Mary McMahon Smith preceded him in death.  He is survived by his wife (of 32 years), Karen Meier Henderson; son, Mitchell Henderson (Kresten); siblings, Julianna Trimbur (Gene), Andy Henderson (Monica), Ferrell Henderson (Donna), and Nicolas Henderson; and sixteen nieces and nephews.  A celebration of Barney’s life will be held at a date, not yet determined.  In memory of Barney, the family requests donations be made to St. Elizabeth Hospice, 1 Medical Village Dr., Edgewood, KY 41017 or Scheben Care Center, 31 Spiral Drive, Florence, KY 41042.  Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home in Independence, KY is honored to be serving the family.  To leave the family a message of condolence, please go to www.chambersandgrubbs.com.
