Obituary of Donald Ruehl

Donald S. Ruehl, age 79, of Independence, died Thursday, August 16, 2012, at his residence. He was a retired Clerk for the US Post Office and Northern University. Mr. Ruehl was a member of the Squires Auto Club, Free Masons, a car show participant of the Cavalcade of Customs, former Boy Scout leader, a Volunteer Fireman for Ft. Thomas Fire Department and loved trains. His son, Kevin Ruehl and his brother, Richard Ruehl, preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife, Edna Ruehl of Independence; daughters, Monica Seibert of Newport, Cathy Ruehl, Cold Spring, Denise Ruehl of Cold Spring , sons, Greg Ruehl of Burlington, Andrew Ruehl of Cold Spring, Danny Smith of Independence, Bobbie Smith of Manchester, sister, Doris Barley of Crestview Hills, 18 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Visitation will be Monday, August 20, 2012 from 10 AM to 12 Noon at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home in Independence with services to follow. Memorials may be made to Kenton County Animal Shelter 303 Court Street Covington, KY 41011.
