Obituary of Elmer Anderson

Elmer Ray Anderson, age 78, of Union, died Monday, September 24, 2012, at his residence. He was a retired Truck Driver for Consolidated Freightway, a member of the Walton Masonic Lodge. Ray enjoyed bowling, dirt car racing, working on cars and tractors, camping, and especially spending time with his family. He was known by many around the Florence Speedway as "Uncle Ray". His wife, Pauline Elmore Anderson, sons, Danny and Larry Anderson, sisters, Donna Neal and Myrtle Elmore, and brothers, Homer and Junior Anderson preceded him in death. Survivors include his daughter, Cindy (Kelly Joe) Anderson Aylor of Union; brother, George Anderson of Walton; sisters, Priscilla Losey of Walton, Faye Richardson and Judy Jones of Taylor Mill, and Tonya Hartke of Burlington; seven grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren. Visitation will be Thursday, September 27, 2012 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home in Florence. Funeral services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Entombment will be at Floral Hills Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
