Janice grew up in Walton, and graduated in 1956 from Walton Verona High School.  Before working for Chambers and Grubbs, she worked  for  Procter & Gamble in Cincinnati, Ohio.   Janice and her high school sweetheart, James D. Grubbs, married in 1959 and celebrated over 50 years of marriage before his death in 2010.    Jim and Janice moved to Independence and started the Independence location in 1963.  She later earned her funeral directors license in 1979.    Janice is a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Walton and Hickory Grove Baptist Church.  She has two sons, Steve and Chris Grubbs.  She enjoys spending time with family and friends, and loves to find ways to help people.

Chris is a fourth generation, licensed Funeral Director.  He is the lucky husband of Pennie (Akers) Grubbs and proud father of three amazing children Mackenzie, Tristan, and Grant, and Charlie, the family’s beloved goldendoodle.  Chris is a graduate of Simon Kenton High School and the University of Kentucky.  After college, he originally worked for South Central Bell and Owen Electric Cooperative before eventually heeding his calling to become a Funeral Director in 1996.  His passions other than his family and profession include U.K. sports, coaching youth sports, exercising and beach vacations.  Over the years, he has been involved with numerous civic and church activities including being a member, Sunday School Teacher, Trustee and inactive Deacon at Hickory Grove Baptist Church, an alum of Leadership Northern Kentucky, serving on the Boards of the Independence Senior Center, Baptist Life Communities, Advisory Council of St. Elizabeth Hospice, Advisory Council of Legacy Financial Advisors, the fundraising teams for Friends of Walton Verona Basketball and Football Teams, and coaching multiple youth sports teams.  He is also the sole  proprietor of Angelic Memorials a memorial company specializing in custom monuments and items of remembrance for those experiencing a loss.

Steve is married to Vicki Hester Grubbs and has 3 step-sons, Brent, Chad & Eric Hopkins, as well as 2 dogs, Jake & Bella.  He lives in the Piner, KY area and is a member at Hickory Grove Baptist Church.  A licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer, Steve has been employed at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Homes since graduating from Simon Kenton High School in 1978.  He enjoys drag racing, gardening, landscaping, biking, boating, all water sports and breeding German Shepherd puppies.  Steve attended Mid-America Mortuary College and has been licensed since 1983.  Over the years, Steve has taken many courses related to the funeral profession and continues to do so.

John Sennhenn is currently the Managing Funeral Director and Embalmer at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Homes. He has worked for Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Homes since September 2013. John was raised on the west side of Cleveland, OH and graduated with honors from Lorain Southview High School and attended Ashland University where he holds an Associate of Arts and Bachelor of Science in Middle School Education (Grades 4-9) degrees. Furthering his education, John graduated Cum Laude from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in 2012 with an Associate of Applied Science in Mortuary Science and served as class Vice-President. He is a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer in the State of Kentucky, as well as authorized to practice in both Ohio and Indiana under the guidelines of each state’s courtesy card. John also serves as an Adjunct at the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science as a Clinical Lab Instructor. He currently resides in Covington, KY with his family: wife, Kristen, newborn daughter, Lennon and rescue dog, Casablanca “Cassie”. In his free time, he enjoys drawing, listening to music, watching classic movies and spending time with his family and friends. John is very dedicated to his profession and understands what a gift it is to help honor a life well lived. He considers himself very fortunate to work with such dedicated people who all share a common vision and goal.

Allison Miller has been in the funeral industry since 2014. She graduated from Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science with an Associate Degree in Applied Science in Mortuary Science in 2015. Prior to mortuary school, Allison attained a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Shawnee State University. She became a licensed Ohio Funeral Director/Embalmer in 2016 and recently obtained her Kentucky license in 2019. Allison and her husband, Allen, grew up in their hometown of Blanchester, Ohio and have recently moved to the Independence area with their two dogs, Molly and Dixie. She is a lifetime member of Girl Scouts, enjoys volunteering at her church, and musical theater. Allison and her husband also enjoy spending time with their families, riding bikes, and kayaking in the summer.

Jill (Wainscott) Leininger is a 2006 graduate of Scott High School and a 2012 graduate of Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science with an Associate of Applied Science and a Bachelor’s Degree in Mortuary Science.  She resides in Independence with her husband, Kyle and two sons, Marshall and Mason, as well as, their Chocolate Lab, Laney.  Jill teaches swim lessons at Silverlake “The Family Place”, is a parishioner at St. Barbara’s Church and St. Pius X Church, and a member of Funeral Directors Association of Kentucky and National Funeral Directors Association.

Bob grew up in Cherry Hill, NJ and graduated from Cherry Hill East High School in 1976 where he played football and baseball. Bob received his undergraduate degree in Applied Science then graduated from  Mercer County Community College, College of Mortuary Science in Trenton, NJ where he receive his  Funeral Director and Embalming Certificate of Proficiency in 1980.  Bob served in the funeral business for five years before changing career paths and going into the Healthcare industry (Key Pharmaceuticals 3M Pharmaceuticals and 3M Dental). Bob recently retired from 3M on January 1, 2019 from 3M where he spent 30 plus years of his career in various sales and management positions. Bob has always had a passion for the funeral business so upon retirement he pursued opportunities to return to his original career aspirations and feels blessed to have the opportunity to join the Chambers and Grubbs family. Bob resides in Union, KY with his wife Jackie (McClure/Halpin) of 34 years.  Bob and Jackie have two children, son Bobby who lives in Covington, KY (with fiancée Amy) and daughter Casey who recently moved to Lancaster, CA.  Bob and Jackie also have two grand-dogs (Bear and Huck).  Bob and Jackie are members of St. Timothy Parish in Union. Bob enjoys family, golf, traveling, cycling, walking and his 2005 Corvette. Bob is a member of the Ft. Thomas Corvette Club. He also volunteers at the Mary Rose Mission in Florence and mentors elementary school children at Stephens Elementary School, Florence, KY.

Jan has been working in the funeral industry for over 16 years. She is married to Bob and has four children, Bobby (wife Andrea), Danny, Joey and Melissa (husband Drew).  She is also the proud grandmother of Savannah Rose & Quentin Robert. Her rescue dog, Cese, is never far from her side; and Jan enjoys frequent visits from her grand dogs Geoffrey and Snoop.  Jan graduated from Miami University with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.  After being a stay at home mom for over 14 years, she obtained her CPA license and went to work for a funeral home consulting firm. After working with the Grubbs family as clients, she decided to join their team in 2008 and work hands on in a funeral home.  She handles the day to day accounting and personnel responsibilities.  Her interests outside of work are primarily her family. She enjoys working in her garden, boating on Lake Cumberland and “getting her steps in”.

Linda moved to Florence 18 years ago from her hometown of Bellefontaine, Ohio. She is a graduate of Miami University. Linda's career has included teaching, counseling, and homemaking. She has been blessed with 4 children, their spouses and 11 grandchildren who all live in the Greater Cincinnati area. Linda enjoys serving her local community as a part of the Chambers & Grubbs team. Linda recently began volunteering in the STARS program through St. Elizabeth Hospice.

​Toni is currently an Apprentice Funeral Director/Embalmer at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Homes. She began working here as a student in September of 2017. Toni grew up in Burlington, Kentucky and attended Randall K. Cooper High School. She graduated Cum Laude from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science with a Bachelors degree in Mortuary Science in 2018, receiving the award for exceptional advancement in the art and science of embalming. During her time in mortuary school, she was able to become a certified life celebrant and crematory operator and arranger. In her spare time, Toni enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and summer time activities. Toni chose to be a Funeral Director because she is passionate about providing exceptional care to decedents and their surviving loved ones. She feels it is very honorable to be able help people through trying times.

Donna Race, Director's Assistant/Reception Hostess

Donna is a Director's Assistant/Reception Hostess. She is the proud mother of two sons Leslie (Mandy) and Dennis (Katie) and proud and devoted grandmother of Connor, Landon, Henson, Jay, Savannah, Sierra,and Jorja.  Donna is a High School graduate of Walton-Verona. She enjoys spending time with her grandchildren,UK basketball and photography. She has worked at Chambers & Grubbs since 1996.  It is an honor  to work for them and serve the community.

Dale Hiles, Director's Assistant

Dale has been an Director's Assistant at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home for almost 12 years.  He has also been employed at UPS for over 30 years.  He has lived in the N. Kentucky area all his life.  He is a graduate of Simon Kenton High School, where basketball was his passion!  The love of basketball has never left him and he is still a loyal fan of the Kentucky Wildcats.  Dale now resides in Villa Hills, KY with his wife of 33 years, Pamela (Hampton) Hiles.   Dale and Pam are blessed with two wonderful children, Amber (Hiles) Bowling and Benjamin.  Amber and her husband, Jeremy, are the proud parents of a beautiful little girl, Savannah Hope, who is her Pap and Grammie’s pride and joy!   Benjamin just recently graduated Bible College.  Dale and his family are members of Refuge Holiness Tabernacle in Burlington, KY.  Over the years, he has always been very involved with church activities in whatever capacity he is needed; such as Sunday School Teacher, janitorial duties, van driver, fund raising, etc.  He and his wife served as church youth camp counselors for over 15 years, where Dale was also the Recreational Director.   Dale enjoys being around people and loves to serve the community by reaching out and helping the people he comes in contact with at Chambers & Grubbs.  

Dean Tolliver, Director's Assistant

Dean grew up in Union, KY and graduated from Boone County High School in 1975. After graduating high school Dean played softball for many years all over Northern Kentucky.  While playing softball he met his future wife Teresa Black from Verona, KY.  They married in 1983 and currently live in Dry Ridge, KY with their 4-legged children.  Two very spoiled Maltese puppies Macy and Bella. Prior to coming to work for Chambers & Grubbs, Dean worked 34 years at the Valvoline Company. Dean served in various rolls throughout his career.  Working in Production, Shipping and Receiving, and promoting Valvoline by working in Hospitality at many Nascar and NHRA events across the United States. After retiring in 2017, Dean has enjoyed spending more time with his hobbies of golf and working on classic cars and trucks.  Dean has a few classic cars and trucks that he enjoys driving to cruise-ins with Teresa and friends.  Dean also enjoys supporting the Walton-Verona High School sports teams. Dean is a member of New Bethel Baptist Church in Verona, KY.  He currently serves as a Deacon. Dean has been blessed to serve on several Mission trips traveling throughout Kentucky helping where the mission team was lead to work.  Dean had the privilege to chaperone New Bethel Baptist Youth group at Youth camp for many years.   He truly enjoyed mentoring to the Youth.  After being retired for 11 months he was given the opportunity to come work at Chambers & Grubbs to serve the families that have entrusted their loved ones to us.  Dean has found and often said that it is a blessing and privilege to work with the staff at Chambers & Grubbs in this capacity.

Doug Foster, Director's Assistant

Doug has been active in ministry for 31 years and in the 20th year as Senior Pastor of the Immanuel Baptist Church located in Florence. Married to Annette for 29 years with three children; Jordan 26, Christian 21, and Sydney 20. Board member of the Crossroads Rescue Mission, an Alcohol and Substance Abuse ministry in Shelby North Carolina. Enjoys spending time with family, traveling, and playing golf.

Lee Anne Ryan, Director's Assistant

Lee Anne is a graduate of Walton-Verona High School.  She married her high school sweet heart, Todd Ryan, and they were blessed with three wonderful children:  Nicholas, Lacey, Misty and along the way gained two awesome son-in-laws, Bobby and Jason.  She is also Mimi to Piper and Owen along with a special angel, Ryan, watching from above.  She attended Northern Kentucky University and obtained an Associate of Mental Health and a Bachelor of Education.   She taught elementary school in Boone County before earning her Master in Education (NKU) and a Master in Counseling (Xavier) to begin her career as an Elementary School Counselor in Kenton County.  She has worked as an elementary school counselor for the past 15 years.  She enjoys her daily interaction with students and parents while helping them learn strategies and skills to help them work through tough life experiences.  After the passing of Todd, she began to work with families going through divorce and the death of loved ones.  She knows the heartache and emotional toll that those experiences can cause and decided to pursue a career in the funeral business with Chambers & Grubbs to help others.  In her free time, she enjoys traveling, shopping, golf, decorating and spending time with her family and precious grand babies.  Lee Anne has a quote she tries to live by: “We cannot get through life without pain… it is how we use the pain that will affect our future.”

Steve McCoy, Director's Assistant

I have been a director's assistant at Chambers & Grubbs since October of 2016. I was born and raised in Covington, KY. I graduated from Holmes High School, then attended Trevecca Nazarene College, Nashville TN. where I studied music. I have been a Minister of Music/Song Evangelist in the Church of the Nazarene for 49 years. I have attended the Church of the Nazarene 55 years, my home Church is GracePointe Community. I worked for the Kenton County Police Department (communications) 27 years; also during that time I was a substitute teacher for the Kenton County School system. After retiring from the police department, I obtained a position as clerk, dispatcher and bus monitor for the school system for 15 years and once again retired. Forty-four years ago I married my college sweetheart Jodell, - an Alabama southern belle. We are blessed to have two beautiful daughters, Elizabeth and Melissa, who are both college graduates. Also, we have a spoiled rat terrier dog named Sapphire. All my life, my greatest joy has been working with people, trying to help improve lives and bring smiles to their faces!
