Obituary of Omar "Big O" Lindsey Lewis
Omar “Big O” Lindsey Lewis Jr., age 68, of Glencoe, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 in Madison, IN. He was born to the late Omar Sr. and Georgie on March 19, 1950 in Madison, IN.
Omar worked many jobs throughout his life and most recently he retired from Citi Bank as a security officer. Omar was a motorcycle enthusiast who started riding in 1972. He was a member of both the KBA and KMA clubs and the Chariots and Harley Riders. Omar had pleasure in hunting and fishing with his grandchildren, nieces and nephews and also playing euchre.
In addition to his love for motorcycles, he did however enjoy going to car shows and being a part of car clubs. Omar was an outdoors man, but also had a love for drawing and poetry.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Dawn Lewis.
Omar is survived by his devoted wife of 34 years, Mona; step-children, Tim Florer, Jody Florer and Amber Florer; siblings, Dennis Lewis (Debbie), Gerald Lewis (Joann), Bobby Lewis (Robbin), Daryl Lewis (Brandi), Darlene Lewis, Barry Lewis (Christine) and Willie Lewis (Donna); grandchildren, Desi, Blake, Dillon, Breanna, Brooklyn, Keith, Cody, Johnathon, Grace, Katie, Hailey, Madelyn, Landon, TJ, Zoey, Havannah and Ember; 7 great-grandchildren; uncle, Wayne Lewis and many other loving nieces, nephews, cousins, family members and friends.
A visitation for Omar will be held on Sunday, June 24, 2018 from 11AM until 2PM at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home in Independence. The Funeral Service will begin at 2PM, also at the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow at Napoleon Cemetery in Glencoe.
