Obituary of Harry John Crawford

Harry John Crawford, age 79, of Piner, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 6, 2018. He was born on April 2, 1939 in Keene, New Hampshire; the son of William and Rita (nee Gausepohl) Crawford.

Harry worked for Time DC trucking Inc. for close to 30 years and Yellow Freight Lines as a truck driver. He enjoyed farming, being outdoors, cutting wood, riding his lawn mower, but his greatest joy, was spending time with his family.

Harry had a love for animals especially horses and his dog, Tiny.

He is preceded in death by his parents; son, John Anthony; brother, Floyd Crawford and sisters, Joan Hehman, Shirley Hutton and Sandy Noe.

Harry is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Dorothy (nee Kreke); daughters, Sheila Baumgartner (Mike), Carmen Atkins (Eric), Holly Ford (Jeff) and Tiffany Meyer (Greg); siblings, Marion Stover, Patti Noon, Frankie Crawford, Beverly Crawford, Geraldine Krebs and Ronnie Crawford; grandchildren, Jason, Jacob, Savana, Ashley, Austin, Kole, Cheyenne, Shane, Marin, Alec, Alycia, Autumn, Trenton, Landon, Sarah and Gracie; 11 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Clifford Kreke and sister-in-law, Eleanor Piercefield.

A visitation for Harry will be held on Thursday, October 11, 2018 from 5PM until 8PM at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home in Independence. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 12, 2018 beginning at 12PM at St. Cecilia Church, 5313 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051. Interment will immediately follow at St. Cecilia Cemetery.
