Obituary of Elsie Grace Kirby

     Elsie Grace Kirby, of Florence, KY passed away peacefully at Gallatin Nursing and Rehab Center in Warsaw, KY on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at the age of 93.

     She was born in Harlan, KY on February 25, 1925; the daughter of Carson and Ollie Wattenbarger. Elsie was a homemaker who took great pride in raising her family. In her spare time, she enjoyed completing word searches and reading the Bible. Her greatest joy, however, was spending time with her cherished family, especially being babysitter to her grandchildren.

     Elsie was preceded in death by her parents; devoted husband, Robert Kirby; daughter, Vicki Pridgen; grandchildren, Aiden Wilson and several brothers and sisters.

     She is survived by her loving children, Lana Spicer, Dorcas Kirby, Vanessa (Ed) Wilson and Robert (Lari) Kirby; grandchildren, Falicia Alling, Lira Pridgen, Phillip Pridgen, Stephanie Pridgen, Eddie (Jessica) Wilson, Mike (Janet) Wilson and Rose (Bob) Gray; 14 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who will mourn her loss and cherish her memory.

     A graveside service for Elsie will take place at 10:00 AM on Monday, October 15, 2018 at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North, 205 Eibeck Ln, Williamstown, KY 41097. Family member Seymour Wattenbarger will preside over the service.

     In lieu of flowers, memorials in Elsie’s name may be made to the March of Dimes Foundation, Donation Processing Center, P.O. Box 673667, Marietta, GA 30006.
